Who I Can Help:

I spent 20 years as a studio and touring musician. During that time I started multiple businesses and sold them at various levels of success. I was bootstrapping and scrounging, and mostly staying ahead of the curve through sheer grit and street smarts.

It wasn’t until I arrived at Wizard Academy in 2013 that I realized what I had been doing and why some things worked and others didn’t. I spent the next 12 years studying at the feet of the instructors who taught in the Eye of the Storm in the Wizard’s Tower. From them I learned how to write powerful and engaging copy. I learned how to identify internal characters and personalities of a business to develop Brand Identity and Brand Strategy. I learned how to develop marketing campaigns, and how to avoid common pitfalls of lowest common denominator advertising. I learned how to care for clients and bring their superpowers to the surface.

I believe you’re never done learning.

About 2015 I started taking what I had learned and putting it into practice. In the last 10 years, I founded the world’s first Whisky sommelier program and helped build two of the largest (whisky focused) Youtube Channels. I cofounded the world’s first crowdsourced whisky distillery. I helped found the Texas Whiskey Association and served as its president. I discovered that I had paid really good attention while listening to the Wizard Academy instructors and Wizard of Ads Partners over the years.

I also began quietly consulting with brands and helping them become the best version of their business while communicating marketing in a way that exploded their impact and their bottom line. Everything I did that worked came directly from the people I have learned from. And joining the Wizard of Ads Partner group means I get to continue to learn.

It also means I get to apply what I learn for you.

Who Is Not a Good Fit:

  • If all decisions have to be approved by a large group of conflicting parties, this is not going to work.
  • If there are employees that are in positions of power that you are hoping you can “fix” by hiring us, this is not going to work.
  • If you want to spread the message of your company but you’re not willing to allocate a real budget for marketing, this is not going to work.
  • If you are primarily hoping to drive quick responses every week at any cost, this is not going to work.
  • If you haven’t built the internal operations structure that will allow you to grow dramatically without breaking, this is not going to work.
  • If you haven’t built the internal communications structure with your staff that allows us to communicate big ideas quickly and get everyone on the same page, this is not going to work.

The good news is that some of these things we can help you with before we kick the marketing into high gear.
