Who I Can Help:
Retail is one of the hardest sectors to do business. I know a lot about retail having owned 7 restaurants. I believe if you can make it in retail, you can make it anywhere. But because of the short sightedness of most, there are few who excel. If you want to stop using short term sales tactics to grow your business, I’m the guy to talk to. I’ve been in your shoes. I drank your Kool-aid. Come drink mine.
Who Is Not a Good Fit:
If you think short term sales tactics like discounts are the secret to success, we don’t need to talk. Unless you’re trying to liquidate old inventory we fundamentally disagree. Hence I can’t help you.
What I Do For Clients:
We find the magic in the business. We find out what’s the big thing that makes a client exceptional. Then we leverage it to help them grow in multiples compared to their 3% growth competitors.
Success Stories:
In my first business, we applied a customer recognition program where staff were encouraged to get unknown retail customer names. And then rewarded them with a real gift. The program involved all employees at monthly staff meetings. In the first year of the program, our business had grown by 43%, whereas the year prior to that was flat. Employee turnover was less than 25% annually. The culture of the program created employee buy-in. I forgot to mention the year was 2008 and we were in the middle of the Great Recession. Who says retail has to suffer in economic decline???
