Change.
Change isn’t usually comfortable or easy and often not fun. But it can be momentous. It can be a turning point. When everything starts to improve, it can be the best thing that ever happened.
You can’t get there from here without it.
You know there needs to be a change but you don’t know exactly what or how or if you even want to do it?
My pastor opened my eyes to a new paradigm when he said, “We are as old as we are willing to change.” His words made me stop and revamp my normal thought patterns. It means no more complaining about learning new things after software updates. Urgh. His words inspire me to focus on being willing to change.
It’s important that we allow our businesses to change.
When evaluating the changing needs of your business, it is helpful to realize you know too much. Imagine that your business is a bottle and you are inside looking out. Your customers are outside looking in. They have a much different view than you do. Not only do they see the world differently; they definitely see your business differently. Marketing professionals can make sure your ads aren’t answering questions no one is asking.
How would a creative outlook affect your business? Look at your business from a different perspective to overcome stagnation. Be sensitive to trends. What do your customers want? Is there a better way to train your employees? Are you willing to look at things differently, in a more creative manner?
Other businesses that are not in your category may have innovative solutions that you could emulate. Be open to new creative ideas.
You’re considering innovative changes but are concerned about repercussions. Test them first with an experiment. Change isn’t as alarming if it is for a limited amount of time.
Our brains change too. Marion Diamond was a neuroscientist who was the first to publish evidence that our brains change from stimulation. This was controversial in the early 1960’s but was later accepted as true. Our brains react to how we stimulate them. Challenge ourselves and our ability will increase and be enhanced as our brains respond and build capability.
We don’t need to be discouraged when a task is difficult. If we keep trying every day, our brains have the ability to adapt and make it easier for us to accomplish the task. We just have to be persistent and keep working on it. Our brains will change and improve our abilities.
We all utilize creativity in our lives on a daily basis. We can choose whether to stimulate our brain to challenge the familiar or keep doing the same safe daily routine.
Painting with watercolor is an example of breathtaking change. Brush pigment onto paper that is already wet and see it change into beautiful patterns. A successful watercolor is never totally controlled. You have to be willing to embrace surprises. Go with the flow.
Change isn’t usually easy but with some effort and the right attitude we can go with the flow and discover surprisingly positive outcomes.
It isn’t productive to stay stuck doing the same things we’ve always done… just because we’ve always done them that way. Keep an open mind. Consider different ideas. Be willing to look at daring options. Wizard of Ads Partners excel in finding creative solutions.
Being willing to change is a good thing. Because things are always changing around us. The only thing constant is…
But you already know that.
